With over 900 international outdoor caps amassed between the quintet, Old Georgian’s Sam Ward will lead the line for Great Britain this Summer in Paris. Sam and Old Georgians team mates, James Albery, Liam Sanford, and new signings Phil Roper and David Ames have all been selected on Team GB’s Olympic Squads to compete for Gold. Lee Morton, who leaves Old Georgians this summer for Amsterdam, has also been selected in the squad.

With 58 goals in 108 games for Great Britain, Sam will be joining David Ames, who will captain the side, in heading to their third Olympic Games. Liam Sanford, and Phil Roper, will be competing in their second Games having played in the delayed 2020 Tokyo Olympics in 2021 in Japan, while James Albery, selected as Vice Captain, and Lee Morton will experience their first Olympics.

The GB men's squad includes James Albery (VC), David Ames (C), Will Calnan, Jacob Draper, Gareth Furlong, David Goodfield, Lee Morton, Nick Park, Ollie Payne, Phil Roper, Liam Sanford, Rupert Shipperley, Zach Wallace, Jack Waller, Sam Ward, and Conor Williamson. The reserves are James Mazarelo, Tim Nurse, and Tom Sorsby.
